The team has developed a number of strategies and plans beginning in 1975, from both public as well as private sector perspectives. Examples of services include tourism master planning, destination planning and management, destination marketing, poverty reduction related approaches, festivals and events, and policy planning. The team has extensive experience in developing tourism experiences and will work with the private sector, destination management organizations and publicly owned attractions/tourism sites to develop unique experiences based on leading-edge interpretation, well thought through storytelling and effective communications.

 

Communications and Public Relations

Development of creative, resourceful, relevant and passionate approaches to delivering results while adapting to the needs of every client. Green Door Solutions develops memorable, influential and dynamic stories that highlight the competitive advantages for each client. The team recognizes that communications and PR are all about relationships and the important need to develop respectful and cooperative approaches.

 

Capacity Building and Training

The team has extensive experience in capacity building and training from graduate-level education to professional development courses. The team has delivered capacity building and training for both public as well as private sectors and stresses an innovative and experiential approach to learning using a range of techniques from traditional classroom teaching, problem-based learning, case studies, coaching and on-the-job training. The team recognizes that capacity building and training must deal not only with the individual and team split but also focus and address the organizational structure in which teams and individuals must work.

 

Change Management

With the rapid rate of change that many organizations are experiencing, they struggling to define future directions and structures given the complexities of introducing new ideas, thoughts and processes into organizations. Very often clients require advice and support in helping to define specific approaches and most importantly need the opportunity to understand the most effective way to introduce change into their structures and development a strategy to implement those changes from internal structures to work processes.  The team utilizes their experience in communications, training and planning to provide clients with the tools to introduce effective change.

 

Urban Planning and Design

Urbanization is growing at a rapid rate throughout the world, especially in emerging economies where municipal organizations require help in mobilizing stakeholder involvement and participation. Since 1995 members of the team have worked with communities to help them find their futures, determine the strategic directions and working with them to implement policies, plans and organizational changes. The team has a unique understanding of design oriented issues and approaches and how these can be incorporated into the larger community planning and policy process. Areas of specific interest and expertise include downtown revitalization, commercial area planning and design, Main Street strategies, and historic districts.
